Profhilo is a skin injectable treatment that delivers hyaluronic acid to all the layers of the skin. Although Profhilo's main ingredient is similar to that of fillers and skinboosters, the hyaluronic acid in Profhilo is significantly different in both concentration and structure.
Firstly, the concentration of hyaluronic acid in Profhilo is about 5 times more than the average skinbooster, making it a skin injectable with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid in the world.
Secondly, the chemical structure of hyaluronic acid in Profhilo is also distinct from that of other injectable treatments. Most cross linked hyaluronic acids before Profhilo contains a chemical cross-linking agent, called 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE). Hyaluronic acid in Profhilo, on the other hand, is thermally cross-linked to form a type of molecule called Hybrid Cooperative Complex (HCC).
The result of this is the ability of Profhilo to 'bio-remodel' the skin tissue, improving hydration and skin firmness through collagen production. This also allows hyaluronic acids of high and low molecular weight to link together, allowing them to release slowly and dissipate evenly under the skin.
*In addition, it does not contain additives such as BDDE or Lycodine. With this unique production process, the injected substance spreads extensively and minimises the risk of lumpiness.
The key advantage of the Profhilo treatment, as compared to other skin injection treatments, is the number of injection sites required.
With other skin injection treatments, multiple injections are required to distribute the product around the whole face.
However, with Profhilo, due to its unique structure and spreadability under the skin, the number of injection sites is only five on each side of the face and neck using The Bio Aesthetic Point (BAP) technique.

When Can I Expect To See Results?

How Often Is Profhilo® Treatment Required?
To achieve the best long-lasting results for Profhilo, you will need two treatments that are four-weeks apart. This treatment can be repeated after six months in cases where more repair is desired.
Is The Treatment Painful?
There may be some minor pain and discomfort during the injection. This should be minimal as the needle used is relatively thin (29g). Other than this, the treatment should be relatively painless.
Anyone who is suitable for standard dermal filler treatment is suitable for Profhilo® as it is safer than most other HA-based treatments for skin aging.
